The Year 10 student said that she joined the program "to help boost my confidence and to get out of my comfort zone". She has been connected with coach Amber Pescud, who she said, "is a very kindhearted woman, she is also outstanding with helping me with the challenges I have faced within the program".
Her community service project is about having short stories written by the students of Gulgong High School on one page in the Gulgong Gossip.
"My target audience is the students of Gulgong High School and the community," she said. "It benefits everyone in some sort of way. For the students it helps them to have courage to do things outside their own comfort zone, have confidence to put stories in the Gulgong Gossip.

"It will encourage them to do things that they never knew they could do, they will also be able to let their minds run wild without people judging them. It's also to show the community what our young minds can do and have a little bit of fun. It will benefit the Gulgong Gossip if more people like other schools do this as well."
Every month on the 14th is when all the short stories will be collected. Each month new stories will selected then appear in the next edition of the Gulgong Gossip.
"The legacy that I will leave behind is that it will continue on, that it won't stop and hopefully it will be bigger each year," Samantha added. "It's something that everyone will enjoy reading and writing.
"I would like to thank the Gulgong Gossip for letting me for doing this, they have been very helpful and supportive."
